About Holly
"Holly is named for the sea holly that grows along the shore of her home. Her tail matches the colour of the spikey blooms. As a mermaid, Holly likes to swim in the cove around the cliff, or lay on the rocks and feel the sun on her bright purple tail. As a human, she lives in the pink cottage that is perched on the cliff. The cottage is small but cozy, with a big fireplace in the living room and large windows that look onto the sea. Holly has an art studio where she likes to paint, and a room with a large soaking tub."
Inspiration
Briana is inspired by paper dolls AND dollhouses. In this book , she decided to combine these two fascinations after learning about scrapbooks victorian children would make (see image below) . They would cut out pieces of furniture and paste them in a scrapbook to build paper rooms for their dolls. This book is Briana's version!
Colour in the clothing, cut out, and use the tabs to hang the clothes on your dolls.
Use the pocket int he back (looks like a dresser or cabinet!) to store loose parts like clothing and the doll.
Colour in the detailed rooms and use them as a "dollhouse" for your paper doll.
