Some Recent Magazine Illustrations

Here are some magazine illustrations I have worked on for a few local Magazines. These are made by drawing digitally over my oil paintings.

This illustration was made for an article written by author Fawn Logan-Young . She recalls how nature and sports helped her through difficult times. I loved making this illustration because I feel a similar childhood connection to nature. Fawn had a place she called “the Kid zone, “ which I illustrated above.

The above illustration was made for At Home on The North Shore magazine. It was made for an article written by Melanie Mosher. The link to the article is here. https://athomeonthenorthshore.ca/winter-solstice/

This image was made for an article about tapping Maple trees and making maple syrup. This was written by I. A. McKay. Here is a summary of the article: Tapping maple trees has been a popular winter pastime in Canada for centuries, and while the warming climate is making it trickier on the East Coast, it's still an annual tradition for many. This was published in Saltscapes Magazine.

This was made for an article called “Our Tangible Past” for At Home on the North Shore magazine. Here is a link to the article. https://athomeonthenorthshore.ca/our-tangible-past/
