Drift / Sable Island Sketches
In 2021 I worked with GZ Art Co. to create large scale reproductions of my Sable Island Sketches. These are hung in DRIFT Restaurant, which is located in the Muir on Halifax Waterfront, Nova Scotia. This building is absolutely incredible, and the hotel has recently been selected as one of the top 10 hotels in the world. It is no wonder to me, because it has added so much incredible public space on the waterfront, and public art.
I made these sketches while on Sable Island in 2017, and some I created from memory shortly after my visit .
Inside the restaurant, it feels like you are eating under a wave. The curve of the wall over the bar is so comforting. The decor is lovely, and I am honoured to have my collection of Sable Island Sketches and in the main seating area. There are a collection of Botanical prints in all of the bathrooms, as well.
