Hear firsthand accounts of Canada's most remote island, then try your hand at sketching ocean waves from life. A beautiful way to spend a Saturday afternoon — no experience needed.

Before Sable A Drawing Day in the Annapolis Valley

A full day in the Annapolis Valley designed to build your skills, your confidence, and your connection with Briana before setting foot on Sable Island. Begin with an indoor sketching lesson, move outside to draw live horses at Willow & Withers Stables, and close the day with a wine tasting in the Valley.

Itinerary:

  • 11:00 AM — Depart downtown Halifax

  • 12:30 PM — Indoor drawing lesson and refreshments

  • 2:30 PM — Guided outdoor horse sketching at Willow & Withers Stables

  • 4:30 PM — Wine tasting at a local Valley winery

  • 6:00 PM — Return to Halifax

  • All supplies included

Drawing on Sable Island A One-Day Workshop on Sable Island National Park Reserve

Spend a full day on one of Canada's most remote and extraordinary places, drawing wild horses in the dunes and seals along the shore alongside celebrated Nova Scotia artist Briana Corr Scott. An intimate, once-in-a-lifetime experience limited to just five artists.

  • Morning — Fly to Sable Island from Halifax

  • Morning/Afternoon — Guided drawing sessions with Briana in the field

  • Afternoon — Sketching along the shoreline and open dunes

There is no better classroom than the real thing. Spend two hours painting the legendary coastline of Peggys Cove alongside published artist and author Briana Corr Scott, who has been teaching people to see and paint the natural world for over twenty years. An intimate session with the rocks, the light, and the ocean right in front of you.

  • Meet at the viewing deck near Sou'wester Restaurant

  • Take a short walk see the village and find your painting spot

  • Learn composition and how to set up a scene

Tourists spend 20 minutes at Peggys Cove. You're going to spend 90 and draw it. Join award-nominated picture book artist Briana Corr Scott for a relaxed outdoor sketching session at one of Nova Scotia's most iconic landscapes. You'll leave with a finished sketch, a sketchbook, and a memory of this place that now lives in your hands.
